The Bunyoro Sub-Region PLU–NRM Tuko Pamoja coordination team has officially launched its grassroots mobilisation and campaign activities in Kakumiro District. The launch, held yesterday, was organised by the Kakumiro District PLU Tuko Pamoja Coordinator, Mr. Edison, with support from the Minister of State for Transport, Hon. Fred Byamukama, Professor Lugega and Eng. Jonard Asiimwe.
The event was officiated by the Bunyoro Sub-Region Coordinator, Mr. Israel Maniraguha, who addressed both sub-county and district PLU leadership teams. In his remarks, Maniraguha underscored the importance of intensified mobilisation efforts, urging coordinators to “triple their commitment” in delivering overwhelming support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in line with the national target of securing over 80% voter support, as set by PLU National Chairman Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Earlier this month, PLU National Vice Chairman Mr. Michael Niwagira Kaguta, widely known as ‘Toyota’, deployed a nationwide team of coordinators mandated to spearhead mobilisation activities for President Museveni’s campaign. The Bunyoro Sub-Region launch in Kakumiro follows a similar event held on Thursday, 13th November 2025 in Buliisa District.
Today, all PLU coordinators from the Western Region and various sub-regions convened for a strategic engagement meeting chaired by the PLU National Vice Chairperson for Western Region, Eng. Jonard Asiimwe. The meeting focused on harmonizing mobilisation strategies, strengthening collaboration among regional teams, and preparing for the broader mission of securing an 80% victory for H.E. the President, alongside ensuring PLU–NRM flag bearers succeed in the upcoming elections.
The leadership emphasised a grassroots-based mobilisation approach, highlighting community engagement, structured coordination, and consistent outreach as the key pillars of the campaign strategy.
