Hoima
The acting veterinary officer for Hoima City, Oliva Musinguzi, has raised concern over the poor conditions in several butcheries across the town.
During a recent inspection, Musinguzi found that many butcheries lack tiled floors and fail to meet key health and hygiene standards, including proper dressing codes for workers.
She has directed butchery owners to improve their facilities or face enforcement action from the city authorities.
Musinguzi also issued a stern warning to milk sellers who are diluting milk with excessive water, saying the practice poses serious health risks to consumers.
She urged residents to report any butcheries or milk vendors who fail to comply with public health standards.
