Hoima, Uganda

The State Minister for Public Service, Mary Grace Mugasa, has called on local leaders across Hoima City to intensify mobilization efforts for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and rally support behind President Yoweri Museveni as the country gears up for the 2026 general elections.

. She stressed the importance of collective effort, calling on all local leaders to “join forces with the winners” and push for a strong NRM showing in the coming elections.

Mugasa highlighted the tangible benefits Hoima City has already enjoyed under NRM rule, pointing to major development projects such as Hoima City Stadium, Kabalega International Airport, and ongoing oil and gas investments  all significant milestones for the Bunyoro sub-region. hoimacity.go.ug+2State House Uganda+2

She challenged the LC1 chairpersons to harness these achievements and help deliver “one of the highest victory margins” for NRM in Hoima City during the 2026 polls.

Officials say that President Museveni is expected to mobilize support through campaign rallies in Hoima City and across Hoima District on December 11, 2025, before wrapping up the day with a final rally in neighboring Buliisa District. The visit is anticipated to galvanize grassroots supporters ahead of next year’s elections.
