Masindi Municipality youth leaders have emerged as the worst performers under the Emyooga presidential poverty alleviation programme.
This is according to the Masindi Municipality Emyooga performance report covering the period from 2021 to date, presented by Robbina Nyangoma, the Municipal Senior Commercial Officer, during a boost meeting for Emyooga beneficiaries held on Tuesday at Masindi Booma Grounds.
Nyangoma named additional poor-performing categories including boda boda riders, performing artists, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), welders, mechanics, and taxi operators.
However, she ranked Women Entrepreneurs as the best performers, followed by journalists, veterans, produce dealers, fishermen, saloon operators, restaurant owners, market vendors, tailors, carpenters, and local leaders.

Nyangoma revealed that Masindi Municipality currently has 168 associations under 18 Emyooga SACCOs, comprising 370 men, 591 women, 203 youth, and 226 PWDs, bringing total membership to 1,390 beneficiaries.
She noted that a total of Shs. 624 million has been recovered so far, while Shs 955 million remains outstanding and yet to be paid back.
