Hoima | Biiso fm News Desk — Independent Member of Parliament aspirant Hon. Susan Asiimwe has pledged to be the true voice of the people of Hoima in Parliament, promising to prioritize service delivery, youth empowerment, and equitable development across the district and the Bunyoro sub-region.
Speaking to journalists right after nomination at Kitoba sub county headquarters in Hoima District, Hon. Asiimwe reaffirmed her commitment to lobby for increased government funding for key projects in education, health, and infrastructure — sectors she described as “critical pillars for Hoima’s transformation.”
“My mission is to ensure that Hoima gets its fair share of development opportunities just like other regions. I will lobby for projects such as the Bunyoro University, and vocational training schools in every constituency, to equip our youth with employable skills,” she stated.
Hon. Asiimwe emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork among leaders from the Bunyoro sub-region, saying that collective effort is key to unlocking the area’s full potential.
“Development can only be achieved when we work together as Banyoro, regardless of political affiliations. I am ready to collaborate with all leaders who share the vision of a prosperous Bunyoro,” she noted.

Although contesting as an independent candidate, Hon. Asiimwe expressed strong support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, urging Ugandans — especially those from Bunyoro — to re-elect him in the forthcoming general elections.

“President Museveni remains the only visionary leader who has consistently transformed Uganda. His government has invested heavily in infrastructure, oil and gas development, and education. I call upon all Ugandans to rally behind him for continued stability and progress,” Asiimwe said.
She also appealed to the people of Hoima to remain peaceful during the election period, discouraging political violence and divisive debates that slow down development.
“Let’s avoid spending all our time arguing about politics. Elections will come and go, but our homes, our businesses, and our communities remain. Let’s focus on working hard to develop our households and the district,” she advised.
Hon. Asiimwe’s message resonated with residents who applauded her for combining a message of peace, development, and loyalty to both the people and the leadership of the country. Many described her as a grassroots leader who understands the needs of ordinary citizens.
The Hoima District is among the most politically vibrant areas in the Bunyoro sub-region, with several candidates vying for parliamentary seats ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Among those vying for the District Woman Member of Parliament in Hoima District are; Hon. Harriet Businge Mugenyi commonly known as Babyface the incumbent but contesting as an independent, Beatrice Wembabazi aka Teacher Mammy the NRM flag bearer, Hon. Susan Asiimwe Independent and Vennah of NUP.
