ROBBERY IN BUTIABA

Police in Buliisa District are investigating circumstances under which a woman identified as Sarah Kayeny a resident of Wantembo village Butiaba town council Buliisa District was allegedly robbed worth 2.3M from her house by unknown thugs.

On Sunday night at around 1:00 am, unknown thugs went to the home if Kayeny pretending to have gone to buy cassava floor and ended up robbing cash millions of shillings.

According to the victim [Kayeny], she  explains that, the thugs tired her arms with a rope, closed her eyes with a piece of cloth and entered her room, they took off with her money.

She added that after struggling from down as she was tired, her son managed to wake up and made an alarm that attracted neighbors for rescue.

Micheal Uringi a neighbor explained that they rescued the woman as she was left tired with rope and a piece of cloth.

Tito a husband to the victim said by the time of the incident, he was in Butiaba town at his second family.

He however expressed concerns due to the failure by police to intervene very fast with sniffer dog.

Hon. Asaba  K Musa Awera condemned the act and asked for police to intervene in the matter.

The Buliisa District Police commander John Mwaule confirmed the incident saying it is a suspected robbery noting that the case of allegedly robbery was registered at Butiaba police station.
