18 November 2025 — Hoima City
The National Vice Chairman NRM Western and Hoima City NRM Chairperson, Eng. Jonard
Asiimwe Akiiki, yesterday held a high-level strategic meeting with the leadership of PLU Tuko
Pamoja Bunyoro Sub-Region and Hoima City Coordinators, marking a renewed
commitment toward harmonizing the operational structures of the two influential political
formations.
The PLU delegation was led by Mr. Israel Maniraguha, the Bunyoro Sub-Region Coordinator, accompanied
by his Deputy, Ms. Nsimirwe Grace, Assistant RCC Hoima City. Their briefing emphasized the
necessity of unified strategy as Hoima City intensifies preparations to host His Excellency in
December. The teams reaffirmed that coordination between NRM and PLU remains central to
consolidating political strength in the region.
PLU Tuko Pamoja Hoima City Coordinator and NRM Lord Mayor Flag Bearer, Brian Kaboyo
Adyeeri, updated the meeting on the steady mobilization momentum observed along his
campaign trail. He underscored that the PLU structural approach has significantly energized the
established NRM systems, creating a synchronized political force with a competitive advantage
on ground.
City Coordinator Dr. Ivan Tumukunde, the NRM MP Flag Bearer Hoima East Division Hon.
Byakutaga Jonan Akiiki Omucwezi, and Hon. Byarufu Joachim, Chairman LC II Kihomboza
Ward, noted that the ongoing structuring has already “caused discomfort among opposition
circles”—a signal of the rising influence and dominance of the NRM–PLU alignment.
The Division Coordinators reported exceptional progress, recruiting 52 members per Cell, with
projections surpassing 7,000 supporters at Cell level alone. This breakthrough is viewed as a
powerful indicator of the overwhelming support anticipated for President Yoweri Kaguta
Museveni and NRM flag bearers across Bunyoro.
The meeting further endorsed Pastor Museveni Vicent as the lead mobilizer for faith-based
engagement, particularly within the Pentecostal community. The Lord Mayor pledged full
support for this initiative, noting that meetings with City pastors are already scheduled.
Among attendees were:
● Hon. Councilor Kisakyamukama Asiimwe Juliet, Coordinator Hoima West Division
● Kahuma Francis Araali, Coordinator Hoima East Division
● Hon. Nestori, Coordinator Tuko Pamoja Kikuube District
● Omubiito David, Mobilizer Hoima East Division
● Fred, Chairman LC II…..
● Councilor Southern Ward
● Rogers BANURA (Ramjet Amooti), Tuko Pamoja Secretary and Head of Media,
Bunyoro Sub-Region
In his closing remarks, Eng. Jonard pledged unwavering support to the mobilization teams and
expressed confidence that the structured collaboration between NRM and PLU will propel
unprecedented political consolidation. He further endorsed the PLU strategy, citing its proven
success and alignment with NRM’s grassroots agenda.
The meeting resolved to convene again soon for deeper operational coordination, with dates to
be communicated in due course.
