A serious road accident was reported today on the Clock Tower flyover in Kampala, involving Mrs. Gladys Mukula, wife of Capt. Mike Mukula. She is currently hospitalized at Healing Ways Hospital in Kampala following the crash.
According to preliminary information, the collision occurred when a vehicle assigned to Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), allocated to Rt. Maj. Rubaramira Ruranga, reportedly lost control and rammed into Mrs. Mukula’s car. Eyewitnesses at the scene indicated that the OWC vehicle was being driven at high speed and in a reckless manner moments before the impact. The driver has since admitted responsibility for causing the accident.
Mrs. Mukula was rushed to Healing Ways Hospital in Kampala, where she is receiving medical treatment for her injuries.
Traffic police responded promptly and have since towed the OWC vehicle for further examination. Authorities say a full investigative report will be issued once ongoing inquiries are completed.
The incident has sparked renewed public concern over the growing problem of reckless driving in Kampala, with calls for stronger enforcement and enhanced road safety measures to protect motorists and pedestrians.
