BULIISA – The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) has urged residents of Buliisa to be on high alert against impostors posing as company technicians.
UEDCL Biiso Area Manager, Asuman Mabanda, says there has been a rise in cases of fake electricians claiming to represent the company and charging customers for repairs that are actually free.
He warns that such scams not only steal from residents but also result in poor-quality work, which could cause more electrical faults or even endanger lives and property.
Mabanda is advising customers to seek help only through official UEDCL channels and to report faults via the company’s 24-hour toll-free line for safe and professional service.
