Men in Buliisa District have been urged to embrace safe male circumcision as a strategy to reduce the risks of contracting sexually transmitted infections.
This was sounded by Biiso health center IV In-charge Dr. Peter Otim while opening a two day surgical camp that kick started today at the facility conducted by delegates from Uganda Muslim supreme council.
Speaking to our reporter, Dr.Otim urged the interested male person between 4 to 52 years to turn up for the exercise, noting that circumcision reduces the risks of contracting some diseases HIV inclusive by 60%.
Buwa Suleiman one of the delegates working with Uganda Muslim supreme council said they have a list of activities done, saying education and health programs is one of them.
Sadic Juru the secretary of health Kiryandongo district Muslim council said that, the exercise started yesterday in Walukuba landing site doing a medical camp and over 300 people got treatments on diseases like malaria, pressure among others.
He urgued the community to embrace the exercise because it’s free of charge.
