Buliisa, Uganda – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Buliisa District is set to hold elections for flag bearers of the District Special Interest Group (SIG) Committee Councils tomorrow, Friday.

The district NRM registrar, Mr. Moses Ntakimanye, confirmed the development during an interview with our reporter earlier today.

These elections will determine the party’s representatives for key SIG committees – specifically for Older Persons, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and the Youth – ahead of the 2026 general elections, where they will face off with candidates from other political parties.

According to Mr. Ntakimanye, both nominations and elections for the SIG committee candidates will take place on the same day.

He further explained that the voters participating in these elections include SIG Chairpersons, Secretaries for Finance, and Secretaries for Female Affairs who were elected at the sub-county level.
