Buliisa, Uganda – The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) recruitment exercise in Buliisa District has ended successfully, with 19 candidates selected to join military training.

The exercise, held today at the Buliisa District Headquarters, saw 23 out of 27 shortlisted candidates turning up for interviews. According to Captain Wilson Kato Agaba, the Public Communication Officer for UPDF Recruitment Team Five, four candidates were disqualified three for presenting fake academic documents and one for failing a medical examination.

Capt. Agaba confirmed that the 19 successful recruits have been released to return home and prepare for their upcoming training. They will report to Kaweweta Military Training School in Ngoma, Nakaseke District in three days.

“This approach allows them to show their commitment and gives them time to safely return their original academic documents before officially joining,” said Capt. Agaba.

The UPDF congratulates the successful candidates as they prepare to begin their journey of national service
