The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) has extended the deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for a Joint Venture Partnership in the Kasurubani Contract Area — one of Uganda’s newest and most promising petroleum exploration blocks.
Initially set to close on Monday, July 28, 2025, the new deadline is now Friday, August 8, 2025. The extension gives interested companies more time to finalize the necessary documentation.
The Kasurubani block stretches across parts of Hoima, Buliisa, and Kikuube districts, both onshore and offshore Lake Albert (also known as Lake Mwitanzige). Covering about 1,285 square kilometers, the area is located in Uganda’s oil-rich Bunyoro region.
UNOC says the block is geologically promising, based on seismic data and earlier surveys conducted by the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU). It lies south of the Tilenga oil development project and northeast of the Ngasa exploration area.
Companies interested in partnering with UNOC for exploration and development in the Kasurubani block are encouraged to submit their EOIs before the new August deadline.
