Buliisa, Uganda – The nomination exercise for National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearers at the lower local government level is progressing smoothly in Buliisa District.
The process, currently taking place at the district NRM office in Buliisa Town, started on Tuesday, 5th August 2025, and will run until Saturday, 9th August 2025.
Speaking to our reporter this afternoon, Mr. Moses Ntakimanye, the NRM District Registrar, confirmed that the exercise covers nominations for Sub County LCIII Chairpersons and Sub County Councilors, including municipal levels.
Mr. Ntakimanye revealed that so far, at least 25 candidates have picked nomination forms for the LCIII Chairperson positions, while 234 candidates have picked forms for the Sub County Councilor positions.
He urged all aspirants who picked forms to return them to the district party office before the deadline to secure their nominations.

He warned that any candidate who fails to return the forms will not be nominated.
Looking ahead, Mr. Ntakimanye announced that campaigns for the nominated candidates will officially kick off from Sunday, 10th August to Wednesday, 13th August 2025. Voting is scheduled for Thursday, 14th August 2025.
He called upon all candidates and their supporters to conduct peaceful campaigns and uphold party values during this period.
