Muslims in Buliisa District have been called upon to maintain the discipline, unity, and good deeds observed during the holy month of Ramadan as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
Delivering his Eid message, the District Councilor representing the Muslim community, Sheikh Adnan Ramathan, emphasized the importance of sustaining the spiritual growth achieved during the fasting period. He noted that Ramadan is not only a time for fasting but also a period of self-reflection, sacrifice, and moral renewal.
Sheikh Adnan congratulated the Muslim faithful for successfully completing the צום, describing the holy month as a time that has cleansed hearts and strengthened faith. However, he cautioned believers against relapsing into negative behaviors, urging them instead to carry forward the values of patience, humility, and righteousness into their daily lives.
He further called for unity within the Muslim community and beyond, stressing that harmony and cooperation are key to social and economic development in Buliisa District. According to him, Eid al-Fitr should serve as a reminder of the importance of togetherness and mutual support.
The councilor also encouraged Muslims to continue giving to the less privileged members of society, highlighting charity as a core pillar of Islam. He specifically appealed to well-wishers to donate food, clothing, and other basic necessities to vulnerable families, noting that such acts of kindness help to strengthen community bonds.
“As we celebrate Eid, let us not forget those who are struggling. Sharing what we have is a sign of gratitude and humanity,” he emphasized.
Sheikh Adnan concluded by urging residents to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and committed to building a better community, adding that the true essence of Ramadan is reflected in how people live their lives after the holy month.
