Buliisa
The Buliisa District Electoral Commission says it is fully prepared to conduct smooth and peaceful general elections.
The District Returning Officer, Robert Kunihira, says the Commission has begun refresher training for polling officials, focusing on the use of biometric voter verification machines.
He adds that the district has already received key reusable election materials, including transparent ballot boxes, basins and sealing tapes.
Kunihira notes that political campaigns across the district are progressing smoothly, with no complaints reported so far, saying candidates are freely canvassing for votes as the official campaign period draws to a close.
He attributes the calm environment to close supervision by Electoral Commission officials and compliance with electoral guidelines by candidates.
The Returning Officer further revealed that the Electoral Commission will tomorrow Thursday hold coordination meetings with security agencies to ensure order before, during, and after polling.
He has urged residents of Buliisa to maintain peace throughout the election period.
