The State Minister for Public Service, Grace Mary Mugasa, has urged Electoral Police Constables to uphold discipline, loyalty and professionalism as they prepare to provide security during the 2026 general elections.
Minister Mugasa made the call last evening while presiding over the pass-out of 3,984 Electoral Police Constables at Duhaga Senior Secondary School in Hoima City West Division. The officers are drawn from the Albertine South Region.
She emphasized the importance of mental readiness, ethical conduct and commitment to national service, cautioning the newly recruited officers against the temptation of quick wealth and indulgence, which she said could compromise their integrity and performance.

Meanwhile in Masindi District, the Resident District Commissioner, Darius Nandinda, has cautioned Election Special Police Constables against alcoholism, warning that alcohol abuse could undermine professionalism and discipline during the electoral process.
Nandinda made the remarks yesterday while officiating at the pass-out ceremony of 1,872 election special police constables for the Albertine North Region at Kabalega Secondary School. He stressed that since the officers will be operating in official police uniform, they must maintain high standards of conduct at all times and completely avoid alcohol while on duty.
