BULIISA DISTRICT — Residents and business owners in Buliisa District have been encouraged to embrace digitalisation as a tool for business growth, innovation, and the protection of digital rights.
The call was made on Saturday by Ms. Jovia Oyungi, the Project Officer for Recreation for Development and Peace (RDP) Uganda, during a digital caravan campaign held at Mukitale Development Foundation Secondary School in Biiso Town Council.
The campaign brought together students from Mukitale and Biiso War Memorial Secondary Schools, teachers, and members of the community — all eager to learn about digital opportunities and online safety.
Promoting Digital Awareness
Speaking at the event, Ms. Oyungi said the campaign seeks to promote awareness of digital rights among Ugandans, especially youth, who make up nearly one-third of the country’s population.
