The project is designed to provide clean and reliable water for both agricultural and domestic use, support school feeding programs, and enhance the livelihoods of nearby households.
The solar-powered irrigation system, with a 30,000-litre capacity, will also serve as a learning and demonstration center for students and community farmers, showcasing how renewable energy can drive agricultural transformation and improve rural livelihoods.
Speaking as Guest of Honour at the handover ceremony, Buliisa Deputy Resident District Commissioner, Silivester Tumukurate, urged the school and community members to take full ownership of the project for their long-term benefit.
