Buliisa District – Jubilation filled Tangala Green Light Stadium in Biiso Sub County on Thursday evening as residents and football teams gathered to receive a donation of sports equipment from the Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Norah Bigirwa Nyendwoha.
The lawmaker handed over full sets of football jerseys and balls to 20 male and female teams drawn from Biiso, Kihungya, and Biiso Town Council. The support is part of a wider initiative targeting 120 teams across the district.
Team managers, including Macris Kiiza of Nyeramya Football Club and Ivan Mugisa of Tangala Mission One, applauded Hon. Bigirwa for her consistent support toward sports as well as other sectors such as health, education, and agriculture. They also called on other leaders to emulate her example.

In her remarks, Hon. Bigirwa expressed gratitude to players and supporters, noting that sports have transformed the lives of many young people. She reiterated government’s commitment to supporting games and sports, pointing to the construction of stadiums in every region, including Hoima City.

The MP also thanked residents for entrusting her with the NRM flag during the party primaries and rallied them to extend their support to all NRM flag bearers and to the national chairman and presidential flag bearer, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in the forthcoming general elections.
During the event, Hon. Bigirwa fulfilled her earlier pledge of Shs300, 000/- for the purchase of polythene sheets (kaveera) for Tangala Green Light Stadium and promised continued support to the people of Buliisa if re-elected.
The distribution exercise, which started in Biiso Sub County, will continue across the district until all 120 teams have received their share.
Hon. Bigirwa is widely recognized for her community initiatives, including the construction of a multi-billion ward at Biiso Health Centre IV, support to the best-performing students with scholastic materials and beddings, as well as empowerment programs for women groups.
In the just concluded NRM primaries election, Hon. Bigirwa performed poorly in Tangala.
