The endorsement was made on Tuesday, July 29, during a high-level delegates’ meeting held at Kolping Hotel in Hoima City. The meeting was led by Hoima District NRM Chairperson and flag bearer Mr. Vincent Muhumuza Savannah, and attended by Sub County NRM chairpersons, District Executive Committee (DEC) members, district councilors, representatives from NRM leagues, the District Police Commander, and the Resident District Commissioner.

Nicholas Musinguzi, also known as Muchakazi, pledged his full support, citing Among’s patriotism and dedication to national service.
However, not all voices were without concerns. Mugenyi Mulindabura, the councilor representing Kiganja Sub-county and NRM District Publicity Secretary, called for increased allowances for councilors and conflict resolution within the party. Other delegates echoed similar sentiments, demanding improved facilitation for LC5 Chairpersons and support for party structures at all levels.

Ssedu Muhongoma, Vice Chairperson of the NRM Elders League in Hoima, appealed for the age threshold on the SAGE program to be lowered from 80 to 70 years, saying many elderly people die before benefiting from the government scheme.
Dr. Emily Kugonza, Buyanja County MP, represented Speaker Among at the meeting and rallied support not only for her candidacy but also for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ahead of the 2026 general elections.
This endorsement gives a significant boost to Speaker Among’s bid as the NRM gears up for internal primaries scheduled for August 27–28, 2025.
