Parish Development Model Fund Beneficiaries in Biiso town council have been urged to invest money into profitable projects.
This was disclosed by the Senior Principal town agent Biiso Ward Mr. Hannington Businge while speaking to Biiso FM reporter as hundreds turned up to open their accounts through a flexi pay system.
The people who turned up to open accounts were from Kigungu , Kihuha, Biiso ward and also Busingiro Parish in Biiso sub county who were approved by their enterprise groups to receive the money.
The function that was held at the premises of Biiso town council offices in Biiso town council Buliisa District.
Businge said that, now PDM beneficiaries are going to begin receiving their money from Stanbic Bank using flexi pay system direct to their MTN mobile phone accounts such that they can withdraw from anywhere.
He also noted that, even though, some of the beneficiaries have clear business plans for the intended projects, many of them divert the cash to other things, asked them to use the loans for the intended purposes saying it will be paid back.
Speaking to one of the beneficiaries only identified as Ogen shortly after opening his account, expressed his happiness saying now they are to get their money direct through MTN mobile money.
President Museveni launched PDM in February 2022 in a bid to alleviate household poverty.
