The Police in Sheema district are hunting for a 40 year old man who allegedly defiled his own16 year old biological daughter and impregnated her.
The Suspect is Tumusiime Nelson a resident of Kagango cell, Kagango division in Sheema Municipality who allegedly committed the crime between August and September 2023. The case was reported to police on 27th September 2023 at 5Pm.
The victim who has been staying with his father (suspect) under one roof together with her siblings and the grandmother since her mother separated with the father some years back. The victim is a p.3 pupil at Unique Nursery and Primary school.
It was reported that the suspect and the wife separated many years ago and the victim has been staying with the mother until last year in September when her mother brought her to the father whom they started staying together with her siblings and the grandmother. It is further alleged that during August, the suspect started defiling her and warned her never to tell anyone.
In Mid-September, the victim started feeling pain in the stomach which on 27th September prompted the suspect to take her to Kabwohe Health centre IV for treatment. On examining her, the doctor discovered that she was pregnant.
When the doctor started interrogating the victim on who was responsible for her pregnancy, the father became suspicious and ran away. Police were informed and instantly recovered the victim.
Inquiries were opened at Sheema Police Station vide CRB 730/2023, victim interviewed, her statement obtained and the examined on Pf3A.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Martial Tumusiime confirmed the incident revealing that inquiries are still at hand and efforts are being made to have the suspect arrested and brought to book.
