Buliisa Residents Demand Elevation of Busingiro Parish to Sub-county Status
Residents of Busingiro Parish in Biiso Sub-county are appealing to their leaders to fast-track the elevation of the parish to a sub-county.
Speaking during the campaign trail of incumbent MP Alan Atugonza today in Busingiro village, local leaders led by LC1 Chairperson Micheal Thorom said the parish is too large, with nine villages, and residents struggle to access government services such as the Parish Development Model (PDM).
They also raised concerns about land conflicts, inadequate health services, and the absence of a Health Centre III and seed secondary school.
Residents further demanded clarity on NFA boundaries, saying unclear demarcations have triggered conflicts with communities living near Budongo Forest.

In response, MP Atugonza promised to address land issues, improve education facilities by lobbying for seed school, and reaffirmed his earlier pledge of an ambulance that was fulfilled.
