The Buliisa District Chairman, Mr. Fred Lukumu, has condemned the growing trend of tribalism in the district, describing those promoting it as enemies of development.
Speaking yesterday at Adonia Hotel in Buliisa Town Council, during a meeting with Coordinators and Mobilisers of PLU–NRM Tuko Pamoja, Mr. Lukumu said tribal divisions and discrimination have caused backwardness in many African countries. He called for unity and brotherhood if Buliisa is to progress.

The chairman also commended the Government of Uganda under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for what he described as a peaceful approach to leadership transition, unlike past regimes. He noted that transition is a process that requires patience from all Ugandans.
Mr. Lukumu further appreciated the leadership of PLU for organizing the mobilization meeting aimed at boosting support for President Museveni and all NRM flag bearers. He pledged full support for their activities.

Meanwhile, the PLU–NRM Tuko Pamoja Regional Coordinator, Mr. Israel Maniraguha, thanked district leaders for backing PLU initiatives. He explained that PLU is a civil society organization led by CDF Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, focusing on promoting patriotism and Pan-Africanism.
Maniraguha added that PLU is working jointly with the NRM to solicit votes for President Museveni, with a target of securing over 80 percent in the upcoming general elections.
