Buliisa, Uganda – Thirteen people have been baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church following a week-long annual camp meeting that drew believers from across the district.
The new converts, comprising six men and seven women, were baptized by immersion in River Waaki after publicly accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Presiding over the baptism, Pastor Joseph Kisembo urged the catechumens to walk faithfully in the footsteps of Christ. He emphasized that baptism by immersion symbolizes the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that “whoever is immersed demonstrates dying to sin and rising again with Christ in righteousness.”
Delivering the closing message of the camp meeting, Pastor Bob Muhumuza, the lead speaker, encouraged Christians to put into practice the teachings of Jesus by showing compassion to the sick, supporting the needy, and reflecting God’s image in their daily lives.
In his remarks, Pastor Isaya Musinguzi thanked believers and the community for supporting the camp meeting, which he said had strengthened fellowship and spiritual growth in the district.
The event attracted large numbers of SDA members as well as Christians from other denominations across Buliisa, all gathering in unity to witness the occasion.
