Buliisa

Following reports that many hotels in Buliisa Town Council are not taking records of their clients, the district security has organised a special meeting with the hotel owners and managers this week.

The move comes as the population of strangers increases in the district due to oil projects developments creating business and employment opportunities for people from all over the country.

Speaking to Biiso FM reporter, Mr Longino Bahebwa Byagagaire, Buliisa Resident District Commissioner (RDC), said he had received reports of security lax with shock because the hotel proprietors and managers were recently warned in the quarterly security meeting.

He said the district security agencies have organised a special meeting with all hotel operators on Thursday next week.

According to Mr Byagagaire who is also Head of the District Security Committee, all the managers and directors of hotels that will be found neglecting their duty will be handled according to the law.

A boda-boda rider who did not want his identity disclosed, said he had also noticed many hotels with loose security.
