Local leaders in Buliisa District are calling on residents to actively participate in the ongoing National Identification Card renewal exercise to avoid future inconveniences.
Denis Oyewa, the LC3 Chairperson of Biiso Sub-county, made the appeal during an interview at Biiso Town Council Community Hall. He emphasized the importance of timely renewal, noting that many residents risk missing out on essential services if they fail to update their IDs.

He encouraged all individuals with lost, expired, or soon-to-expire IDs as well as those whose cards show “continuing” dates to visit their nearest registration center. First-time applicants are also urged to register.
Oyewa also shared promising news for residents facing transportation challenges. Based on ongoing discussions with district authorities, arrangements are being made for ID pickups to be facilitated at Biiso Town Council starting this August.
The ID renewal exercise is being conducted in partnership with the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), and aims to ensure all citizens have valid identification for accessing government services, voting, and more.
