Hoima District

The Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, has urged Ugandans to desist from land fragmentation, saying the practice undermines commercial agriculture and family development.

Nabbanja made the remarks yesterday afternoon while presiding over the Abafumambogo Clan’s annual reunion held at the home of the late Zakaria Kwebiha in Buraru Sub-county, Hoima District.

She explained that subdividing family land among children limits productivity and makes it difficult for families to engage in meaningful commercial farming. The Prime Minister emphasized that family land should remain intact and be jointly utilized for development purposes.

Nabbanja also cautioned locals against engaging in land wrangles, noting that land conflicts continue to derail social harmony and economic progress within communities.

He also urged communities to embrace poverty eradication programs as a pathway to improved livelihoods.
