A horrific tragedy has struck Buliisa District, where a 27-year-old man was torched to death by unidentified assailants.

The deceased, identified as Adongi Kevin, a resident of Alongo Cell, Kampala Ward in Biiso Town Council, was found dead this morning along the Biiso–Masindi highway in Akiimi A Village, Kihungya Sub-county.

His body was discovered in a roadside trench next to a burnt Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, registration number UFT 444T, believed to belong to Onega, a boda boda rider from Biiso town.

According to witnesses, the scene also contained a burnt panga, torn clothing, and Adongi’s naked body.

The LC1 Chairperson of Akiimi A Village, Mr. Eler Uringi, said he was alerted by the GISO to take record of the motorcycle number plate. On arrival, he found a large crowd gathered and immediately contacted police while erecting road barriers to prevent accidents.

The deceased’s brother, Peter Okello, told our reporter that he last saw Kevin yesterday evening at around 8 p.m. He revealed that it was the motorcycle owner, Onega, who first raised the alarm this morning before the family received news of the tragedy.

The motive behind the gruesome attack remains unclear.

Confirming the incident, Albertine North Regional Police Commander, Damale Nachuha, said investigations are underway to establish the exact cause of the murder.

This latest mob attack comes amid growing public concern over rising theft cases in Buliisa. Just last month, a suspected motorcycle thief was also burnt to death by residents in Kanyaranyara Village, Biiso Town Council.
