The ruling National Resistance Movement has elected Adrine Kobusingye as its new Women’s League Chairperson.
NRM Electoral Commission boss Dr. Tanga Odoi declared her winner on Monday after she secured a commanding 1,839 votes, defeating closest challenger Faridah Kimbowa, who managed 670.
Kobusingye’s victory ends Lydia Wanyoto’s long reign after Wanyoto pulled out of the race, throwing her support behind Kimbowa. The outcome marks a generational shift in NRM’s women leadership as the party positions itself ahead of the 2026 elections.
