Hoima – Seven incumbent LC3 chairpersons from various sub-counties in Hoima District were unseated in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) primary elections held yesterday.
Despite low voter turnout at some polling stations, the exercise was conducted peacefully, resulting in a significant shake-up in the district’s local leadership.

Speaking after his victory, Fred Mbabazi Abooki, the incumbent LC3 Chairperson of Kapapi Sub-county, thanked residents for re-electing him. He urged unity among the people of Kapapi following what he described as a divisive campaign period fueled by rival political camps.
Hoima District comprises 14 sub-counties and three town councils, making it one of the most politically vibrant regions in Western Uganda.
