Business owners and residents in Biiso Town Council, Buliisa District, are counting losses following persistent water shortages that is disrupting operations at a time.
Several traders say the inconsistent water supply has severely affected their businesses and daily activities.
Magret Nyangoma, the owner of Good Feeding Hotel in Biiso, says the continuous water scarcity has forced her to always hire boda boda riders to fetch water at high costs, cutting into her profits.
She is now appealing to authorities to urgently intervene and restore reliable water supply.

She notes that both households and small businesses are heavily affected.

Residents and business owners are now calling upon district leaders and water authorities to take urgent action to address the crisis.
When contacted, Sente Innocent, the Team Leader of Water Supply under the Water Umbrella in Biiso, Buliisa District, confirmed the water shortage.
He attributed the problem to declining water levels during the dry season, which makes it difficult to pump water to all tap points.
However, Sente says plans are underway to drill a new borehole before the end of this year to boost the existing water supply system and improve access for residents.
