Police in Kakumiro District have launched investigations into the brutal murder of Kamugole Village LC1 Chairperson, Mr. Benon Byaruhanga.
The 58-year-old was hacked to death by unknown assailants armed with machetes at around 11 pm yesterday.
The incident happened on Tuesday night as he rode his Bajaj motorcycle, registration number UEC 918Z, from Kamugole Trading Centre to his home.
According to the Albertine South Police spokesperson, SP Julius Allan Hakiza, the attackers reportedly waylaid the chairperson and struck him from behind.
His body was later discovered in an isolated area bearing multiple injuries.
No arrests have been made so far.
Police are urging members of the public to volunteer any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
