Kagadi, Uganda – November 3, 2025

The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has today delivered 1,250 iron sheets and dummy cheques worth UGX 47,615,000 to selected beneficiaries in Kagadi District.

The consignment was officially handed over by the State Minister for Bunyoro Affairs, Hon. Janepher Namuyangu Kacha, during a ceremony held at the Kagadi District boardroom.

According to Minister Namuyangu, the financial support—amounting to UGX 47.6 million—has been disbursed to various micro-projects in the district to foster socio-economic development.

Beneficiaries

From Buyaga East Constituency, the benefiting institutions include:

  • Mabaale Secondary School – 200 iron sheets

  • St. Elizabeth Catholic Sub Parish, Pachwa – 250 iron sheets

  • Kagadi Model Primary School – 200 iron sheets

In Buyaga West Constituency, the beneficiaries include:

  • Muhorro Boys Catholic School (BCS) – 300 iron sheets

  • Kyaterekera SDA Church – 300 iron sheets

Leaders’ Remarks

Minister Namuyangu urged the recipients to ensure that both the iron sheets and funds are used for their intended purposes. She also rallied the people of Bunyoro to support President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the 2026 general elections, citing the need to protect the gains and achievements of the NRM government.

Buyaga East MP Hon. Eric Musana commended the Office of the Prime Minister for the support but appealed for the fulfillment of other pledges, including the provision of iron sheets to Kagadi Secondary School.

Kagadi Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Caroline Nanshemeza praised the government for supporting public institutions and urged beneficiaries to make proper use of the donations. She also encouraged residents to re-elect President Museveni to continue advancing socio-economic transformation programs.

Beneficiaries Speak

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the government and their leaders for the timely support, noting that the iron sheets and funds will help improve housing conditions and promote economic growth in the district.
