The Buliisa District Local Government has pledged to continue working closely with TotalEnergies EP Uganda (TEPU) to promote sports development and youth empowerment in the district.
Speaking during the launch of the 2025 TotalEnergies Mini League 3rd Edition held at Biiso Primary School playgrounds, District Sports Officer Godfrey Muhumuza, who represented the Chief Administrative Officer Levi Musinguzi, commended TotalEnergies for its consistent support toward nurturing sports talent and promoting community development.
Muhumuza called for sustained collaboration to ensure sports activities in Buliisa remain well-coordinated, inclusive, and sustainable, noting that sports play a vital role in uniting communities and engaging the youth positively.
During the event, 24 football clubs—including 8 women’s teams and 16 men’s teams—received sports kits, jerseys, footballs, and first aid supplies from TotalEnergies.
The opening matches featured thrilling performances, with Action Star She defeating Biiso Queens 3–0, while Biiso Hot Stars narrowly edged Riiko FC 2–1.
TotalEnergies EP Uganda began supporting football activities in Buliisa and Nwoya districts in 2022, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program aimed at promoting youth development, gender inclusion, and community engagement through sports.
The TotalEnergies Mini League is organized in partnership with the Buliisa District Football Association and FUFA, providing a platform for local talent to showcase their skills and fostering unity among host communities of the Tilenga Project.
