Masindi, August 21, 2025 — Preparations are in high gear in Masindi District ahead of the National Mawlid Commemoration for the Islamic faith, organized under the Kibuli Muslim leadership.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, 24th August 2025, at Masindi Public School in Masindi town. It will also feature the swearing-in ceremony of the new Supreme Khadi for Masindi Muslim District.

Speaking to our reporter, Sheikh Yasiri Arafat Kulumba, Director for Religious Affairs in the Office of the Supreme Mufti, confirmed that Masindi was selected to host this year’s national Mawlid event, which will serve the entire Western Region.

Sheikh Kulumba added that the event is expected to attract international guests, including delegations from Pakistan and other countries. The official program on Sunday will begin at 9:00 AM.
Meanwhile, Hajji Abdunuru Byaruhanga, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, urged the business community to prepare and seize the economic opportunities that come with hosting a large number of local and international visitors.

With the district readying itself for the celebration, Masindi is set to play a central role in marking this important religious and cultural event, while also benefiting from the economic boost associated with hosting national and international guests.
