Kabale, August 21, 2025 — Former Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Bishop Henry Luke Orombi, has urged Christians to rekindle the passion and unity that characterized the early East African Revival movement, calling on believers to anchor their faith firmly in Jesus Christ.

Speaking yesterday during the second day of the 9th East African Revival Conference at Rugarama Hill in Kabale Municipality, Bishop Orombi addressed thousands of congregants from the Diocese of Kigezi and neighboring regions. He emphasized that true spiritual transformation begins with a personal acceptance of Christ and a genuine commitment to living out the Christian faith.

Bishop Orombi also warned against the growing influence of materialism, noting that many people are increasingly prioritizing wealth and possessions over spiritual growth. He encouraged attendees to maintain a balance, putting faith and devotion above worldly pursuits.

The 9th East African Revival Conference continues to draw believers from across the region, serving as a platform for spiritual renewal, fellowship, and reflection on the principles of the historic revival movement.
