Buliisa District has recorded a significant increase in local revenue collection, thanks to the adoption of automated systems. This development was revealed by Mr. Mark Mugisa, the District Revenue Officer, during a two-day capacity-building meeting held at Pearl Keveneh Hotel in Buliisa Town Council.
The event, organized by Kakindo Women Integrated Development Organization (KAWIDO) in partnership with the Southern and Eastern Africa Trade and Information Negotiations Institute (SEATINI), ran from July 27–28 and attracted stakeholders from sub-county, district, and business communities.
According to Mr. Mugisa, the introduction of the E-Log System and the Integrated Revenue Administration System (IRAS) last year in urban centers has led to a twofold increase in tax revenue collection, compared to previous years when taxes were collected manually.
