Ms. Catherine Nyakato, the resident of kyabatalya cell, Buhimba Town Council has been arrested by kikuube police on allegations of recent mosquito net distribution to Ugandan by the government.
The Buhimba town council Health Inspector Ms. Lilian Tumuhaise says as she was in the field doing government work, she landed on the mosquito net covering an anti-hill which attracted her attention and decided to look for the owner of an anti-hill.
She added as she tried to investigate, she realized that the mosquito net which was covering an anti-hill is among the mosquito that was distributed recently by the government.
On the process of hunting on Nyakato who was using a mosquito net to catch the white antes fortunately the Kikuube RDC Mr. Amlan Tumusiime came as he was going in another area to inspect government project after understanding the matter, he ordered his security guards to hunt and arrest on Nyakato.
Later Nyakato was arrested and handed over to Kyabatalya Police Post in Buhimba Town Council Kikuube district where she is detained as she is waiting to be transferred to kikuube district central police.
Mr.Musa Mugisa, the Buhimba Town Council Mayor, confirmed the matter and condemned it saying that all people were seriously sensitized on how to use the distributed mosquito nets by the government.
He says it is now very unfortunate to see now locals are using the same mosquito nets for white ants capturing which may even fail the government plan of fighting malaria which cost the government a lot to buy medicine for Ugandans who suffer from malaria.
Later Musa appealed to the entire community of Bunhimba town council and Kikuube district to properly use the nets they received and to help the government to achieve her target in fighting malaria.
A total of 27,789,044 mosquito nets were distributed in 11,287,392 households, with an average of 5.1 person.
