The AIDS Support Organization (TASO) Masindi is seeking one billion shillings for the construction of an HIV treatment center.
Speaking to our reporter this afternoon, Edmund Tayebwa, TASO Manager Masindi, said that through various avenues, they have already realized 30 million shillings to support the initial phase.
According to Tayebwa, they are organizing the TASO run, which is scheduled for the 26th of this month, as a way of realizing more funds, adding that at the same function, they will break ground for the construction of the treatment center, and Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja will be the chief guest.
Tayebwa asserted that the construction of the treatment center will improve service delivery, provide privacy for their clients, and create space for the private wing at Masindi General Hospital since they are occupying their space.
The TASO run is scheduled to take place on the 26th of this month and will start at exactly 7 a.m. at MTN Service Centre Grounds, covering 2km, 5 km, and 10km, and each kit is 25,000 shillings.
